Shetland has so many diverse industries.  Agriculture, Aquaculture, Knitwear, Fishing, Oil & Gas, Decommissioning, Boat building, Renewables, Construction, Tourism, Music, Knitwear, to name but a few.

A 2010 detailed SIC study found that Shetland’s economy was worth over £1billion a year, with a positive balance of trade of £131million. During the oil era, over £100billion of oil revenue has flowed from Shetland waters to the UK treasury – and yet here in Shetland we are faced with fuel poverty, rural school closures, crippling transport costs.
